Protecting their Future.

Juvenile law is the area of law that inherently and directly impacts children. It includes, but is not limited to, dependency, delinquency, termination of parental rights matters, probate, and personal injury.  Our attorneys are dedicated to educating families about the need to protect their child's legal rights as well as their own.

Juvenile Delinquency

Both Belkis and Shannon are passionately dedicated to kids who find themselves in the criminal justice system. Kids are different, but our Criminal Justice System is struggling to see the differences between kids and adults. We're working each and every day to change that.

Our attorneys, Belkis Plata and Shannon Schott are experts in Juvenile Law and have become Board Certified Specialists by the Florida Bar.

Guardianships

Certain life events will require your child to have a guardian including the loss of parents, inheritance or a large claim, or when a developmentally disabled child turns 18.  Our attorneys are familiar with these probate issues and can help families navigate these legal matters for your minor child.

Board Certified Specialists in Juvenile Law

Board certification recognizes an attorney's special knowledge, skills and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in practice. Board certified lawyers are evaluated for professionalism, and tested for expertise. Certification is The Florida Bar’s highest level of evaluation of the competency and experience of attorneys in the 26 areas of law approved for certification by the Supreme Court of Florida.

Belkis Plata and Shannon Schott are amongst few attorneys in the State of Florida who are experts in the area of Juvenile Law. They are currently accepting cases in North East Florida in Juvenile Delinquency court.
