Serving Hope: Taco Dinner at Jacksonville Hope Lodge

Recently, Belkis, Shannon, and the Hightower Fellowship hosted a taco dinner at the Jacksonville Hope Lodge. The evening was filled with meaningful conversations and a chance to hear the courageous stories of cancer patients and their caregivers who are staying at this incredible facility while receiving treatment.

A Personal Connection

For Belkis and Shannon, the event was especially touching. Cancer has deeply impacted their families in numerous ways, making the opportunity to provide comfort and support to these brave individuals particularly meaningful. "Being able to share a space with these brave individuals and show our support during their battles means the world to me," Belkis shared. The chance to connect with patients and their caregivers on such a personal level was both humbling and inspiring.

About Jacksonville Hope Lodge

Located on the Mayo Clinic campus, the Jacksonville Hope Lodge, operated by the American Cancer Society, serves as a supportive home away from home for those undergoing cancer treatment. It provides a safe and nurturing environment where patients can rest and recover without the added stress of accommodation costs. This wonderful facility embodies a community spirit, bringing together those facing similar challenges and offering a network of support.

Gratitude and Community Support

Belkis expressed her deep gratitude to the fellows of the Hightower Fellowship who participated, as well as to everyone who helped make the event a success. We want to give a heartfelt thank you to the Fellows who came out to support, Brandon Cornellier of NextGEN Roofing for joining in sponsoring this event, and Niko Negron for making the evening a success!
