Juvenile Client gets a new chance at life

Belkis’ client participated in a serious offense and a young teenager resulting in serious charges and was certified as an adult. He risked going to prison, and after more than four years of advocacy the Child, now a young man was sentenced.  The State asked for significant prison time, but the probation officer was given the opportunity to be heard, and stated that she is very proud of the Child.

The Honorable Marianne Aho used her discretion and sentence the child non pro tunc to the date of original imposition of sentence to concurrent sentence. On his 21st birthday, November 3, 2022, the Child got a fresh start as a free man.
